Have a coup= le of questions on Clyde's estate tax return, but in the end, since no taxes= are due, it doesn't make any difference so Bonnie can sign when we ar= e in Moses next.

Why did we i= nclude the funeral costs but not the 35k in legal and accounting fees? Generally, we reserve to take those expenses on th= e income tax form 1041 & 1040 since there is no benefit on WA Estate Ret= urn. In this case, we most likely won=E2=80=99t need to file a 1041, but sim= ilar to what you said it will not make any difference since there is no tax due.

Why are the= funeral expenses divided in half? Washington is a community property state and under= a law that was passed back in 1938 funeral expenses reported for a married d= ecedent must be halved.

Why is the G= reenbrier 401 account considered an annuity? We thought it was a regul= ar 401 that she has to take minimum distribution from.. Correct it is not an annuity, but for estate purpo= ses all retirement accounts get reported under the Schedule I, Annuities.

The five sm= all Umpqua bank savings accounts are really just damage deposits from each r= ental unit so are not our funds. We will add an offsetting liability for these so t= he net value will be zero.

We are find= ing that our 'insured' values for the farm equipment and military vehicles, t= hat we used for estimated estate values are considerably too high, but it ma= kes no difference in the bottom line so no use getting the stuff appraised.

Did Craig g= et you the year end summaries for DAP so you can work on Clyde and Bonnie 20= 24 personal tax return? Yes

Do you need= anything else from Bonnie for year end tax information? I haven=E2=80=99t quite finished going through eve= rything yet, so I=E2=80=99m not sure. So far I don=E2=80=99t think I need an= ything else but I will let you know if I do.
