Hey Curtis,

No worries on the delay. I get that keeping everyone in the loop is importa=
nt and with the holidays you=E2=80=99d rather talk about fun and happy thin=
gs and not this haha.

We will add you and Craig as successor trustees as well as trusted contact =
persons.

So for the Transfer on Death form we have to have a % and we can=E2=80=99t =
just assign shares to go to one person. So Costco is valued at about $65k i=
n the account which is 22.6% of the account and then Craig and yourself cou=
ld be 38.7% of the account.

As beneficiaries, all of you will get a stepped up cost basis on all the po=
sitions that you inherit. So if Katelyn got her 22.6% and wanted to sell wh=
atever shares she did get and buy Costco stock instead, there wouldn=E2=80=
=99t be hardly any capital gains taxes to be paid on her end for selling th=
e shares that she was given so that she could buy another companies stock. =
If that makes sense?

We can do everyone at 33.3% or Katelyn something like Katelyn at 22.6% with=
 Craig and Curtis at 38.7%?

To answer your question on how long taking $30k from a $400k account should=
last largely depends on performance. That is a 7.5% withdrawal rate. If we=
average 5% on the money it should be about half way through the 21st year =
that the account hits $0. If we take a 50/50 approach (50% stocks/50% bonds=
) I think pretty conservative estimates we should average that 5% if not 6-=
7%. The risk to this is getting hit with a market correction right out of t=
he gate. That is enough of a timeline that we would be able to make it back.

As far as costs go. I manage portfolios that I charge my clients a flat 1% =
fee. I don=E2=80=99t use many mutual funds (usually only bond funds that ha=
ve much lower expenses) because I like to avoid those internal expenses. Wi=
th $400k that is enough money that you can get well enough diversified by o=
wning individual company stock that you don=E2=80=99t need to pay internal =
expenses. I believe that this leads to better performance for my clients no=
t only through less fees but the portfolio typically generates higher incom=
e because I look for companies that pay us dividends. To use Wells Fargo=E2=
=80=99s mutual fund advisory program (fundsource) it is a flat fee of .9% a=
nd the internal expenses are usually anywhere from .25-1.5% in the mutual f=
unds. Mutual funds can hold 100=E2=80=99s of positions which I believe take=
s you past diversification and into dilution which I also believe leads to =
poor performance. Let me know what you think of these two options. I like t=
o take ownership for my clients so if things ever go sideways they know who=
 to talk to.

Let me know if you have any questions and what directions you would like to=
go on the beneficiaries as well as the managed account.

Thank you,

Sorry for the delay, I had to get everyone's approval.

Can we do Transfer on Death three ways.

Upon Bonnie's death, Katelyn Andrews 1/4/94 gets all of the Costco stock.

All the remaining in Bonnie's account is divided equally between Curt 5/16/=
57 and Craig Andrews 3/11/60

Craig and I are successor trustees for Clyde's trust.

You can add both Craig and I as trusted contact for all accounts.

On a different issue, what are the fees that Wells Fargo charges for your =
services? Say we create a new account with $400,000 in a medium risk mutu=
al fund, we withdraw $30,000 year out of the account until it is gone (20? =
years).

We have the management fees of the mutual fund itself, plus how much or wh=
at percentage does Wells Fargo add to manage the account?

Thanks

Hey Curtis,

Just have a couple questions as we get new accounts opened. We have to open=
an individual account for Bonnie. The funds cant stay in a joint account w=

nt a TOD (Transfer on Death) which allows us to name beneficiaries on the a=

d this to the individual account in Bonnie=E2=80=99s name I need names, dat=
e of birth, and % of assets each beneficiary should receive of the accounts=
value (example if there are two beneficiaries and each get 50%). If we can=
get that info we can have it ready for Bonnie to verify and sign when we h=

The second is who will be the successor trustee(s)?

Once we get this information we should be good to go and be ready for Bonni=
